Internship: Finance

The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide timely and equitable assistance to those affected by motor vehicle accidents through the provision of appropriate social benefits to ensure financial relief and recovery for qualifying individuals.

Purpose of the Internship: The Road Accident Fund is committed to youth skills development, providing graduates with an opportunity to gain work-based experience. Applications are invited for the Finance Internship from unemployed graduates between the age of 18 and 25. The Internship program will run for a period of eighteen (18) months. Verification process will be undertaken to verify whether you have previous work anywhere within the Republic of South Africa.

Work based exposure may include the following: (populate in the form of Summary)

• From the daily RNYP report sent by the Senior Accountant, the intern will update the spreadsheets, allocate new payments to the relevant officer, notify the team once the spreadsheets have been updated.
• If a payment could not be batched for whatever reason, the list of payments will be sent to the Finalization dept to resolve the discrepancies
• Checking that the correct documents are attached to payment documents
• Batching the correct batches to Batch R system
• Petty Cash Management Plan
• Requests made by staff
• Applicable documents to be attached to requests
• Budgeting
• Finance Management
• Explaining the Procurement Process
• Demand Management Plan
• Maintain PRs
• Create POs
• Print POs
• Filing documents

Qualifications and other Requirements

• Certified copy of Grade 12 / Matric certificate                                                                                        
• Bachelor’s Degree/ National Diploma in Commerce/ Financial Accounting/ Financial Management
• Certified copy of your ID                                                                                                  
• Certified copy of Academic transcript                                                                                      
• Your CV and motivational letter

Remuneration

The interns will be awarded a monthly stipend.
