Administrator: Change Configuration & Asset Management

The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide timely and equitable assistance to those affected by motor vehicle accidents through the provision of appropriate social benefits to ensure financial relief and recovery for qualifying individuals.
Purpose of the Job: The Administrator: Change Configuration and Asset Management is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the live environment by coordinating controlled changes, ensuring reliable configuration information (CMDB), and monitoring asset visibility and accountability to support service delivery and decision-making.
Key Performance Areas
Integration of Enterprise Management Tools
- Installation, configuration & administration.
- Upgrade and maintenance of the tools.
- Monitor and attend to the errors reported in the logs
- Ensure high availability of the tools.
- Validation of the patches.
- Test the compatibility of the existing tools with the new releases.
- Integration of various tools
- Ensure that all changes to the configuration are recorded, approved, and tracked.
- Maintain a centralized repository of software and hardware configurations.
- Maintain baselines of software configuration and hardware components.
- Conduct regular configuration audits to ensure compliance with configuration management processes and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain configuration control and version management.
- Stay current with emerging configuration management technologies and make recommendations for incorporating new solutions into the organisation's configuration management environment.
Configuration Management and Asset Management
- Ensure an accurate and up-to-date inventory of hardware, software, and other ICT assets.
- Regularly review, update and maintain configuration management database (CMDB).
- Establish clear and concise configuration baseline
- Ensure effective configuration control and version management.
- Accurately and efficiently install, configure and maintain system software and applications.
- Identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Patch and update cycles regularly.
- Keeping systems secure and up to date
- Proper recording, approval, and tracking of all changes to the configuration.
ICT Change Management
- Coordinate services, implement and monitor release plans, change requests, producing detailed timetables of events and documenting action plans.
- Communicate and manage expectations during the planning and rollout of new releases.
- Coordinate and present in change advisory board forums.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Set standards for enterprise management tools
- Set procedures for installations and configurations
- Prepare and Maintain enterprise management tool related documentation.
- Evaluate and recommend any upgrades required for the enterprise environment.
- Compliance frameworks and standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance methodologies.
- QA Initiatives to ensure that system configurations meet the needs of stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting
- Record keeping and reporting tools, documentation standards, and communication protocols
- Produce regular reports on system performance and availability.
- Contribute to the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Assist with inquiries and request for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the maintenance of relationships service providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/ Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, or a Technology related qualification.
- ITIL V3 or 4 certificate
- AWS practitioner attendance certificate
- Guidewire attendance certificate
Experience
- Relevant 3 years’ experience in ICT Change, Asset, or Configuration Management.
- Experience in a service desk function supporting Claims Management Systems, Citrix Environment, Network Systems, Telephony system, or SAP Application will be advantageous.
